Disability is a reduction of a person's physical, mental or intellectua ability. The Social services work to help you to live your own daily life and provide support and assistance in various forms. This includes customised housing, assisted living, daily activities, leisure activities, contact persons, attendants and personal assistance.
LSS and Social Services Act
The support and assistance you are entitled to is governed by the Act on Support and Services for Persons with Certain Functional Impairments (LSS) and the Social Services Act. LSS shall guarantee that persons with comprehensive and lasting disabilities enjoy good living conditions and the help they need. Thus, LSS can affect the support and services you receive. The goal is to enable you to be able to live like others. If you wish to apply for support and assistance, contact one of our LSS officers (LSS/SoL-handläggare).
The Social services maintain confidentiality. Any data you provide to the Social services will not be passed on to any third party. The confidentiality shall be valid until it is obvious that the information may be disseminated without you or a person close to you suffering as a result. Excepted from confidentiality are decisions about placing in custody and care without consent.
