Journeys Osbeck was employed 1750 on eastindientraveler “prince Carl” as ship priest. The travel covered among other things a long visit in the cantonarea in southern China and the island Java. At the homecoming three years later, he donated 900 new discovered plants from the area to Linné. The collection still exist in Sweden and England.
Left documentation His traveled notes were published 1757: Dagbok öfwer en ostindisk Resa åren 1750, 1751, 1752.
Notable Osbeck worked during the late part of his life as Vicar in Halland.
