Journeys Ternström is considered as Linnés first apostle. He sailed out as a ship priest 1746 with "Svenska Ostindiska Kompaniets Calmare". They came during the autumn to the archipelago Pulo-Condore, outside the present Vietnams coast, to anchor up in winter blocks. Already after two months work, comes Ternström “to fall in a difficuld, illness and therefore his days was shortened”.
Left documentation His diary, "Resejournaler 1745-46", is preserved at Uppsala University library.
